Q1. Who is your Lord?

A1. My Lord is Allah.

Q2. What is your religion?

A2. My religion is Islam.

Q3. Who is your prophet?

A3. My prophet is Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib ﷺ.

Q4. Why did Allah create us?

A4. Allah created us to worship Him.

Q5. What is the evidence?

A5. He said, “And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” (51:56)

Q6. What is the word of tawheed (the Oneness of Allah)?

A6. Laa ilaha illallah.

Q7. What is its meaning?

A7. No deity deserves to be worshipped except Allah.

Q8. What are the categories of tawheed (the oneness of Allah)?

A8. Tawheed al-rububiyah (the oneness of Allah’s lordship), tawheed al-uluhiyah (the oneness of Allah’s worship) and tawheed al-asma was-sifaat (the oneness of Allah’s names and attributes).

Q9. What is tawheed al-rububiyah (the oneness of Allah’s lordship)?

A9. To make Allah one in His creation, His kingdom, His management of everything, and His legislation.

Q10. What is tawheed al-uluhiyah (the oneness of Allah’s worship)?

A10. To make Allah one by directing all types of worship to Him.

Q11. What is tawheed al-asma was-sifaat (the oneness of Allah’s names and attributes)?

A11. To make Allah one in all His beautiful names and lofty attributes, without changing their meaning, without rejecting them, without describing how they are, and without likening them to the creation.

Q12. What are the conditions of Laa ilaha illallah?

A12. Knowledge, certainty, acceptance, submission, truthfulness, sincerity and love.

Q13. What is the meaning of the testimony that Muhammad ﷺ is the messenger of Allah?

A13. To obey him in what he ordered, believe in what he informed us about, avoid what he forbade us, and to worship Allah with only what He legislated.

Q14. What is worship?

A14. Worship is a comprehensive word for everything that Allah loves and is pleased with of speech and actions, both hidden (inward) and apparent (outward).

Q15. How many levels of the deen (religion) are there?

A15. Three levels: Islam, emaan and ihsaan.

Q16. What is Islam?

A16. Islam is submission to Allah by making Him one (one in his lordship, worship, names and attributes), submitting to Him through obedience, and freedom from polytheism and its people.

Q17. What are the pillars of Islam?

A17. The pillars of Islam are five: the testimony that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, to establish the prayer, to pay the zakat, to fast the month of Ramadan, and to perform the pilgrimage to the House of Allah if one is able to find a way there.

Q18. What is emaan?

A18. Emaan is speech with the tongue, belief with the heart, and action with the limbs. The pillars of emaan increase with obedience of the Most Merciful and decrease with obedience of the devil.

Q19. What are the pillars of emaan?

A19. The pillars of faith are six: that you believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the last day, and that you believe in the decree, the good of it and the bad of it.

Q20. What is ihsaan?

A20. Ihsaan is that you worship Allah as if you are seeing Him, though you cannot see Him you know that He sees you.

Q21. What is the sin which Allah does not forgive if the slave dies upon it?

A21. Shirk al-akbar (the associating of partners with Allah).

Q22. What is the evidence?

A22. Allah said, “Allāh does not forgive association with Him.” (4:48)

Q23. What are the categories of shirk (polytheism)?

A23. Shirk al-akbar (major polytheism) and shirk al-asghar (minor polytheism).

Q24. What is shirk al-akbar (major polytheism)?

A24. It is what makes all actions worthless, and the doer of this action remains in the fire forever, like the one who sacrifices to other than Allah.

Q25. What is shirk al-asghar (minor polytheism)?

A25. It is what does not make actions worthless, like swearing by other than Allah, and showing off.

Q26. What is the position of the two testimonies in the deen (religion).

A26. The slave does not enter Islam except by them.

Q27. Where is Allah?

A27. Allah is over the heavens above the throne.

Q28. Does anyone besides Allah know the unseen?

A28. Say, “None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allāh”. (27:65)

Q29. Who are the angels?

A29. The angels are servants of Allah, they are made from light, they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them, and they do what they are commanded.

Q30. What is our belief about the divine books?

A30. We believe that the Torah, the Injeel, the Zaboor and the Qur’an are divine books, and the Qur’an abrogates all of them.

Q31. What is our belief about the prophets and messengers?

A31. We believe in all of Allah’s prophets and messengers, we don’t make a difference between any one of them.

Q32. What is our belief about the Qur’an?

A32. It is the revealed speech of Allah, it is not created, it originated from Him and to Him it will return.

Q33. What is our belief about the last day?

A33. We believe in the punishment of the grave and its blessings, the questioning by the two angels Munkar and Nakeer, standing before Allah on the day of resurrection and being held accountable, walking over the bridge, the weighing of deeds, the presenting of the books of deeds, the reward and the punishment.

Q34. What is our belief about the decree?

A34. We believe that Allah is the creator of everything, He knows everything before it occurs, all good is from Him, and evil is not attributed to Him.

Q35. Is Allah with us in every place?

A35. No! Allah is with us by His knowledge, His Hearing and His Seeing.

Q36. What is the fate of the sinful Muslim on the day of resurrection?

A36. It is under the will of Allah; if He wills, He will punish him; and if He wills, He will forgive him.

Q37. Who are those who will enter paradise without being accounted and without being punished?

A37. Those who do not ask for ruqya (incantations), do not ask to be cauterized, do not believe in omens, but they trust in their Lord.

Q38. What is our belief about the Muslims?

A38. The prayer is valid behind all of them whether he is righteous or sinful. Whoever enters Islam with certainty is not taken out of Islam except with certainty.

Q39. What is our belief about al-wala’ (alliance) and al-bara’ (disassociation)?

A39. Alliance is for Allah, His messenger, and the believers. We ally with the believing slaves of Allah, we love them, we defend them, and we take as enemies the enemies of Allah, and hate them.

Q40. What is the right of the Muslim upon another Muslim?

A40. When you meet him, greet him with the salaam; when he invites you, to accept his invitation; when he sneezes and praises Allah, to say yarhamuka Allah (may Allah have mercy upon you); when he is sick, to visit him; and when he dies, to follow his funeral.

Q41. What are the conditions for the acceptance of actions?

A41. Doing actions sincerely for Allah and according to the sunnah of Muhammad.

Q42. What is our belief about the companions of Muhammad?

A42. We believe they are all just and trustworthy. They are the best of people after the prophets, we are pleased with them, and we remain quiet about the problems that happened among themselves.

Q43. How many doors of Jannah (Paradise) are there?

A43. Eight doors.

Q44. What is the name of the door that is specifically for those who fast?

A44. Al-Rayyan.

Q45. What is the greatest blessing in Jannah (paradise)?

A45. It is seeing Allah.
